When you’re planning your Walt Disney World vacation, the Disney Dining Plan can feel like a leap of faith. Will prepaying meals actually save you money? More importantly, will it save you stress? As someone who went in skeptical (my husband thought he’d starve!), I found that beyond any potential savings, the real value is in convenience, portion peace of mind, and locking in today’s prices. Here’s exactly what you get per night—and a savvy strategy to make those credits go further.
What You Receive with the Disney Dining Plan

Per Person (ages 3+), Per Night
1 Table-Service Meal (includes appetizer, entrée, dessert, and one beverage)
1 Quick-Service Meal (one entrée and one beverage)
1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Drink
1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug
Note: Resort-Refillable Drink Mugs can be refilled only at self-service beverage islands located at Disney Resort hotel quick-service locations—they cannot be used inside the theme parks.
Beverages are included with each meal:
Guests under 21 choose from nonalcoholic options.
Guests 21+ may substitute their drink for a single-serve beer, wine, or cocktail where offered.
All unused meals, snacks, and mug refills expire at midnight on your checkout date.
What You Receive with the Quick-Service Dining Plan

Per Person (ages 3+), Per Night
2 Quick-Service Meals (each includes one entrée and one beverage)
1 Snack or Nonalcoholic Drink
1 Resort-Refillable Drink Mug
Reminder: Mug refills are limited to your Disney Resort hotel’s quick-service beverage stations; they aren’t valid in the parks.
No table-service credits here—perfect if you prefer spur-of-the-moment meals at over 100 quick-service locations, with no advance reservations required.
Snack Details—What Counts as a Snack Credit?

At quick-service restaurants, outdoor carts, and select shops, snacks include single-serving items such as:
Frozen ice cream novelty, popsicle, or fruit bar
Two scoops of hand-scooped ice cream
Themed cupcakes
Popcorn (single-serving box)
Piece of whole fruit or single-serve bag of chips
20-ounce fountain drink or bottled Dasani® water
Single-serve coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or milk
Cup of soup
Add-on sauces (e.g., cheese dipping sauce)
(Not included: souvenir containers, multi-serving items, or merchandise.)
Pro Tip: Maximize Your Credits and Save!

Combine Two-Credit Experiences with a Cash-Pay Pizza Night
Some signature and character meals require two table-service credits per person. Popular options include:
Be Our Guest Restaurant (Magic Kingdom)
Cinderella’s Royal Table (Magic Kingdom)
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (EPCOT – lunch & dinner)
Le Cellier Steakhouse (EPCOT)
The Hollywood Brown Derby (Hollywood Studios)
Tiffins (Animal Kingdom)
Jiko – The Cooking Place (Animal Kingdom Lodge)
Jaleo by José Andrés (Disney Springs)
Morimoto Asia (Disney Springs – dinner)
Paddlefish (Disney Springs)
The BOATHOUSE: Great Food, Waterfront Dining, Dream Boats (Disney Springs)
Flying Fish (BoardWalk Inn)
Cítricos (Grand Floridian Resort & Spa)
Narcoossee’s (Grand Floridian Resort & Spa)
Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera (Riviera Resort – dinner)
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White (Wilderness Lodge)
Yachtsman Steakhouse (Yacht Club Resort)
Hoop‑Dee‑Doo Musical Revue (Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort)

Maximize your credits and save:
Apply two credits toward those premium, two-credit dining experiences—rather than paying higher cash prices—for signature meals and character events.
Enjoy a cost-effective pizza night by using cash at Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in Epcot, where a large pepperoni pizza feeds a crowd affordably, stretching your budget even further!
How to Redeem and Track Your Credits

Present your Disney Resort ID (MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile, or Key to the World card) at any participating location.
Special dietary needs? Let your server or manager know when ordering.
Dining with another party on a plan? Tell the cashier which credits apply to which reservation.
Track usage via the My Disney Experience app, printed receipt tallies, or by asking Resort Concierge.
Unused credits roll over day to day but expire at midnight on checkout.
Bonus Hack: Take Snacks Home with You

If you find yourself with leftover snack credits near the end of your stay, don’t let them go to waste! Leftover Disney Dining Plan snack credits can be redeemed at quick-service restaurants, candy shops, and souvenir shops for packaged snacks or qualifying items—think Mickey‑shaped rice crispy treats, candy bars, or popcorn—that you can pack in your luggage and enjoy at home.
If you still have quick-service meal credits, ask at select locations to convert them into snack credits (often 1 quick-service = 3 snack credits), or use those credits to purchase to-go items for your journey home. It’s a fun way to extend the magic and get extra value from your plan.
Note: Unused credits roll over day to day but expire at midnight on checkout.
Is the Plan Right for You?
Disney Dining Plan: Best for those who love character dining and table-service experiences.
Quick-Service Dining Plan: Ideal if you want maximum flexibility and zero scheduling.
Mix-and-Match: Use credits for the big experiences, then pay cash for fan favorites like Via Napoli.
Think about your group’s appetite, whether you want an all-inclusive feel, and how much scheduling you enjoy—then pick the plan that makes your Disney dining stress disappear!
