Luigi’s in Gatlinburg: A Late-Night Italian Spot on the Strip

Outdoor Patio Seating at Luigi’s Gatlinburg
Patio seating right on Gatlinburg’s main strip — a nice spot to enjoy the evening.

Gatlinburg has no shortage of restaurants, but Luigi’s is one worth planning around if you’re craving hearty Italian comfort food. Located on the main strip—right toward the end but still easy to reach—this spot has flexible indoor and outdoor seating, generous portions, and later hours than many other restaurants in town.

What We Ordered at Luigi’s in Gatlinburg

The food is the highlight here, and portions are generous—especially the pizza and calzone, which are both big enough to share.

Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza at Luigi’s Gatlinburg
Pepperoni and cheese pizza with a golden crust and plenty of gooey cheese.

Pepperoni and Cheese Pizza: A classic done right. The crust was golden brown with a nice chew, the cheese melted and bubbly, and the pepperoni gave it that familiar, savory punch. While pizzas here are on the pricier side, the portion size and flavor make them worth considering—especially if you’re splitting one.

Chicken Alfredo at Luigi’s Gatlinburg Italian Restaurant
Rich, creamy Alfredo pasta topped with parmesan — filling and flavorful.

Chicken Alfredo: A creamy, rich plate of pasta that was filling and flavorful. The Alfredo sauce coated every strand of linguine perfectly, and the parmesan sprinkled on top gave it a satisfying finish.

Hawaiian Calzone with Ham and Pineapple at Luigi’s Gatlinburg
Ham, pineapple, and cheese baked into a giant calzone, finished with parmesan.

Hawaiian Calzone (Ham and Pineapple): Stuffed with ham, pineapple, and plenty of cheese, baked until golden brown, and served with marinara. Finished with parmesan on top, this calzone was enormous—definitely big enough for two people to share.

Garlic Knots Appetizer at Luigi’s Pizza Gatlinburg
Warm garlic knots brushed with butter and herbs. Good, though I still think Domino’s wins with their extra buttery version.

Garlic Knots: These came out hot and brushed with butter and herbs. They were good, but I honestly thought they needed more butter. I know Domino’s isn’t anything fancy, but in my opinion, their garlic knots are better simply because they’re loaded with butter. Luigi’s version had nice flavor, just not as rich as what I prefer. Next time I will ask for extra garlic butter and see how that turns out.

Crispy Calamari at Luigi’s Gatlinburg Restaurant
Crispy calamari served with marinara — the perfect starter to share.

Calamari: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect for dipping in marinara. A great way to start the meal.

Gyro Plate with Fries at Luigi’s Gatlinburg
A full entrée: warm pita stuffed with seasoned meat, lettuce, tomato, and onion, served with fries.

Gyro Plate: A hearty entrée all on its own, this dish came with a warm pita wrap filled with seasoned meat (I chose lamb which was delicious), lettuce, tomato, and onion, alongside a pile of golden fries.

Fresh Salad with Olives at Luigi’s Gatlinburg
Fresh salad with tomato, onion, cheese, and olives. In our photo, you won’t see the olives — my kid pulled them off since he’s not a fan — but they do come with the salad.

Salad: Fresh and crisp, with lettuce, tomato, onion, shredded cheese, and olives. Note: in the photo, my kid pulled the olives off because he’s not a fan, but the salad does normally come with them.

Atmosphere

Luigi’s offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it flexible for any kind of dining experience. On a pleasant evening, the patio is a great spot to soak in the lively Gatlinburg vibe, while the indoor dining space is cozy and relaxed.

Service

Service was great—friendly, fast, and attentive. Drinks stayed filled, food came out quickly, and the staff checked in enough to make the meal smooth without feeling rushed.

Hours, Pricing, Location, and Value

One of Luigi’s best features is its late hours. Many restaurants in Gatlinburg close early, but Luigi’s stays open later, making it a perfect choice if you’re hungry after exploring the town.

Another bonus is the location. Luigi’s sits right on the Gatlinburg strip—toward the end of it, but still easy to reach. Even better, they have their own parking lot, which means no extra cost for parking (a big deal in Gatlinburg). Just make sure you park on the side of the building where their lot is located. Don’t park in the back, as that area is paid parking.

While pizza is on the pricey side, overall pricing is decent, and their portion sizes are pretty generous. Between the shareable pizza, large calzone, and hearty entrées, you’ll leave full and satisfied.

Dreamverse Travel Tip: If you’re craving Italian food in Gatlinburg, Luigi’s is a reliable pick—especially if you need a late-night spot. Consider sharing a pizza or calzone, as they’re both generously sized and ideal for splitting.
